The firm expands in regional Queensland with a merger in Toowoomba.
Andrew Coronis has a goal of 50 offices for his real estate firm, and has moved closer to this by merging with Toowoomba’s leading real estate agency, House Estate Agents.
Principal Emmy Thies and her husband and General Manager, Tye Thies, will continue to run their existing sales and property management team of 27 under the Coronis brand, the addition of which will see additional services including conveyancing, financial services, wills and estate planning and building and pest control.
"We’ve built up a 30 per cent market share in both Highfields and Westbrook to date so I am looking forward to growing that even further and in other Toowoomba suburbs as well," said Emmy Thies.
The merger was strategically timed, said Coronis, who is nominated for Brisbane Business Person of the Year at the Lord Mayor’s Business Awards on Friday. "We chose Toowoomba as the next destination to expand the business due to the amount of major infrastructure investment occurring at the moment such as the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing, the rejuvenation of Grand Central Shopping Centre and the strong population growth," he said.
"By merging with a powerhouse real estate agency such as House Estate Agents, who are known for their energy, market knowledge and customer service, we can enter the regional market with a strong reputation and customer base thanks to the excellent work Emmy and Tye have done over the past five years."
Coronis now has 22 offices located across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba with a team of more than 350 staff. The merger will also significantly boost the property management portfolio, which was already the largest is Queensland, to almost 7000 properties.
