Several property and building industry figures among reality TV set.
It seems even when looking for love, Australians turn to the property industry. The Bachelorette has been one of the best performing television shows all year, and more than one of the reality show's stars has come from the property world.
In last night's finale, Bachelorette Sam Frost picked construction manager Sasha Mielczarek as her final partner over real estate agent Michael Turnbull. Mielczarek, 30, works as a senior project engineer for Lend Lease in Canberra. He has previously worked as a project manager for Geocon Group.
Frost, 26, was previously the winner of The Bachelor, where Perth auctioneer Blake Garvey picked her to be his girlfriend only before changing his mind after the show had aired. His website states, "Blake has a proven track record in the real estate industry with over five years of experience. His charismatic charm and ability to command a room has built him a sold reputation as one of Australia's top auctioneers."
Another one of the 14 men competing on The Bachelorette was straight-talking Darwin plumber Dave Billsborrow, who has since returned to his day job. This week, Billsborrow was photographed by paparazzi at work on a home in Sydney's Vaucluse.
