The developer has begun meeting with Gold Coast city councillors to win support for its Mariner's Cove proposal.
In a bid to gain approval for its $600 million plans to redevelop the Mariner’s Cove site, Sunland Group has launched a "charm offensive" to win over city councillors. After years of planning, Sunland's development application for a project which includes 370 apartments and 69-suite boutique hotel was lodged with the Gold Coast City Council six weeks ago.
The Gold Coast Bulletin reports that Sunland executive chairman Soheil Abedian and his staff have started meeting with councils in a bid to secure the votes needed for the project to receive planning approval.
The council's planning committee will assess the project over the next few months. Some councillors have expressed concerns over the height of the 44-storey twin towers Sunland has planned.
