Help define the cultural significance of the swimming pool in every day Aussie life at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale.
Do you love your backyard swimming pool? If so, your story can help explain the cultural significance of the swimming pool in every day Aussie life at the Australian Exhibition at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, where some of the country's most remarkable pools—natural or manmade, inland or coastal, temporary or permanent—will be shown to the world.
The team behind the Australian exhibition, Aileen Sage and Michelle Tabet, are now calling on the public to send in photographs and short stories that describe what an Aussie swimming pool means to them, what people love about their pools and their childhood or more recent memories of them. This crowdsourced database of photographs and short narratives will inform their research for the exhibition.
The deadline for submissions is July 17.
