The federal government has said it will address some of the concerns building owners have been raising for years about the behavior of telecommunications carriers.
City of Sydney council orders developer to rebuild heritage facade
The developer who demolished most of the heritage-protected 1912 Edwardian facade of a Potts Points building, has been ordered to rebuild the wall and could face heavy fines.
The Property Council supports proposals for systematic auditing of existing buildings with cladding, and a ban on the future importation and sale of 100% polyethylene core aluminium composite panels.
“The housing sector has already stepped back from its role driving the Australian economy and now is not the time for governments to hit the industry with punitive charges,” warned Tim Reardon, HIA’s Principal Economist.
