A historic modernist Palm Springs estate known as 'The Elvis Presley Honeymoon Hideaway' is on the market for $7.7 million.
You won't be able to help falling in love with this historic mid-century modernist property - once the home of doe-eyed crooner, Elvis Presley.
The 'Elvis Presley Honeymoon Hideaway' is on the market for a cool $7.7 million ($US5.9 million), down from the asking price a few years ago of $12.5 million (US$9.5 million).
Though Elvis never owned the property, he lived there from 1966, and married Priscilla Wagner the following year.
The stucco and stone-clad house was designed by the famous modernist architect William Krisel, and built in 1962 by one of the best-known builders of the era, Robert Alexander.
The original funky 60s vibe remains, helped along by original features including curved stone walls, a round kitchen island, and a circular fireplace suspended from the ceiling in the middle of the living room.
Situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, the home is completely private and looks over the San Jacinto Mountains and Coachella Valley. The 1.25-acre grounds contain a swimming pool, tennis court, and orchard.
So historically unique is the home, it was used as the set of the TV movies 'Elvis & Me' (1988) and 'Elvis by the Presleys' (2005).
The estate consists of three lots, each more than 1,600sqm.
The listing agent is Mary Kay Nibley of Rodeo Realty.
