The chateau is designed by Stephen Sauvestre, one of the architects who designed the Eiffel Tower. It sits on Lake Geneva, between the Jura mountains and the Vaudoise Alps; in summer enjoy water sports, in winter enjoy ice fishing on the lake and skiing in the mountains.
The chateau is over 1,300sqm and has eight bedrooms and six bathrooms. It retains many of its historic features, including balconies, reception rooms, living rooms, a wood-paneled library, two kitchens, and views all the way to Geneva. On the lower ground floor is a boat slip, storage, a workroom, gym, and sauna.
The chateau contains a lift to provide access to all four levels.
The 9.1-acre site features mature trees, a river, and a pond, and access to the lake and walking tracks.
Chateau de Promenthoux is 43km from Lausanne, and 12km from Geneva. The region is well known for its parks, hiking, biking, and horse-riding trails, and festivals, particularly the famous Montreux Jazz Festival.
