Victoria is the cheapest state in Australia to hire a tradie, according to new data from ServiceSeeking, a site that allows you to compare tradie quotes from around the country. 

Prices in Victoria are down because demand has fallen, according to Jeremy Levitt, CEO of ServiceSeeking.com.au.

“Lower demand for renovation services has driven down tradies’ prices this quarter," he said. 

"Renovation activity has slowed since the recent spike in property prices," he said, advising that "renovators should take advantage of the lower prices and get their jobs done now." 

The quarterly Tradie Price Index shows that tradie prices in Victoria are 7.3 per cent below the national average.
