Rod Stewart is selling his 25-acre estate near Epping Forest.
Rod Stewart is selling the six-bedroom Essex home where he has lived for 30 years, and which has inspired many songs, including 'Time' and 'Another Country'.
He is said to be moving to be closer to his children's school.
The home was built in the 1800s, and was designed by architects Walter Earnest Tower and Charles Eamer Kempe in the Jacobean style. It is said that Winston Churchill stayed there during the Second World War.
In a statement written to Mansion Global, Stewart said, “Till this day, the drive from the gate to the house takes my breath away. If only we could have picked the house up and moved it. It’s very hard to say goodbye, and the kids still hope to go back for a visit one day.”
Listing agent Tim Phillips, of Savills Country Department, said the property is everything a buyer could wish for in a country estate, “incredibly private, yet within easy commuting distance of London.”
The main residence has six bedrooms, six bathrooms, four reception rooms, a games room, bar, and library. The property also has a self-contained guest cottage, staff accommodation and a full-size football field.
