While Sydney's auction market eased from last week's high, it achieved a respectable 74.2% clearance rate over the weekend.
Strong clearance rates in Sydney and Melbourne pushed the capital city average clearance rate to 70% over the weekend, according to CoreLogic.
The national clearance the previous week was 69.5%.
Volumes were steady. A total of 1,863 auctions were held during the week, compared to 1,876 the previous week. Volumes remain well below the same week last year, when 2,599 capital city auctions were held, and 79.1% cleared.
Sydney achieved a clearance rate of 74.2%, while Melbourne achieved 70.7% this weekend, according to CoreLogic.
The most expensive property sold in Sydney was 47 Newton Road, Strathfield, which was sold under the hammer for $6.8 million by Devine Real Estate.
