This weekend is set to break records in Melbourne, with 1,810 homes going under the hammer.
This weekend is set to cap off the traditional strong spring-selling season with the largest volumes yet.
A total 1,810 homes are slated for auction, with 1,735 scheduled for Saturday, and 75 on Sunday. Almost 5,800 homes will be auctioned in November, making it the biggest month for auctions in Melbourne's history. The previous record was set in November last year, when more than 5,300 homes went to auction.
REIV CEO Enzo Raimondo said 2015 has been 'the biggest auction market for many years'. Over the year to 23 November, 37,700 properties have gone to auction, more than ever before.
Of the top-ten suburbs by auction volume, Glen Iris has achieved the highest clearance rate, with 85.5% of properties selling at auction. Croydon South, with 29 auctions, achieved a 100% clearance rate.
'Melbourne property buyers are currently spoiled for choice, with high auction numbers forecast until mid-December,' Raimondo said.
