Mr Creevey said the location, in particular, would appeal to developers with a number of iconic sites in close proximity.
“The intention of the zoning is to allow for low-density residential development, with the predominant land use comprising single detached dwellings with a minimum lot area of 600 square metres,” he said.

“The 'Low-Density Residential' also allows for other residential activities including dual occupancy dwelling, manufactured home estate (MHE), residential aged care facility and retirement facility (subject to council approval).
“Due to its beachfront location, Bargara has grown significantly over the last decade, becoming a popular tourist and retirement destination.
“The main streets of Bargara are The Esplanade and The Promenade. The Esplanade runs along the Bargara Beach foreshore and is lined with modern holiday homes and units.
“The Promenade contains several hotels, restaurants and clothing shops. Bargara is also a popular fishing, swimming and surfing location,” he said.
Mr Williams said a number of key commercial, retail and industrial projects had recently been announced or commenced that had the potential to strengthen future demand for residential housing and associated activities in the Bundaberg Region.
“The Bundaberg Regional Council has been very proactive in their efforts to attract investment and development activity into the region recognising the longer-term benefits that can be provided to the local economy,” Mr Williams said.

“The $5.68 million Bundaberg Airport expansion project will deliver stage three of the Bundaberg Region Aviation and Aerospace Precinct, providing eight fully serviced allotments including three airside allotments, the construction of taxiways, loop road and an aircraft apron.
“In addition to the extra airport capacity, the site sits just 5km from Bargara Golf Club and commercial precinct is a short 3.8km from Kelly’s beach and near to the future $3.8 million Hughes Road extension, providing direct future access to the commercial precinct.”
The auction will take place on Friday, September 06 2019 at 10.30am at Level 26, 111 Eagle Street in Brisbane City.
