As Americans enjoy their summer vacation, the biggest home in the most glamorous holiday location of all has just come onto the market.
Though the US property market usually takes a break over the summer holidays, the 'Summerhouse' - as the largest house in the Hamptons is known - has just hit the market with an asking price of US$34,950,000 (AU$46 million).
The 'Summerhouse' estate is 23,000 square feet, only 1,000 square feet larger than the next biggest estate, La Dune.
Built in the classic New England - or Hamptons - style with shingles, the nine-bedroom home features a chef's kitchen, five custom-built stone fireplaces, a gym, an indoor basketball court, and a movie theatre. And of course there are staff quarters, a pool and spa - and a rooftop putting green, according to Mansion Global.

The home is only a 15-minute walk to the beach, and a short drive from the picturesque Southampton Village.
This property is one of a seven-house estate created by Kean Development group as part of the luxury community in Olde Towne.
