REINSW is joining forces with NSW Fair Trading and Strata Communities Australia to offer training sessions on the new strata laws, which are due to come into effect across NSW from 30 November 2016.

REINSW CEO Tim McKibbin said the event will cover in detail the new Strata Schemes Development Act 2015 (NSW) and the Strata Schemes Management Regulation 2016. 

“After consultation with industry and consumers, 90 changes have been made to strata laws,” McKibbin said. “The new changes to the strata legislation are substantial, and it is important for our members to understand their responsibilities under the new legislation.”

The event includes presentations from NSW Fair Trading chief mediator Michael Courtney, SCA president and strata manager Greg Haywood and REINSW Strata Chapter Committee member and partner at commercial property law firm Massons, Leisha de Aboitiz.

A comprehensive one hour Q and A session will give those attending an opportunity to seek expert advice on their concerns and issues.
