A Carbon Positive House designed in Melbourne adds to the global conversation about sustainability.
If you live in Melbourne, you might have seen the Carbon Positive House designed by ArchiBlox when it was on display at City Square in February. The house, which produces more energy than it requires, is now in the running for a global sustainability award, having been shortlisted in the top 10 finalists for the Sustainia Awards, which identifies and celebrates groundbreaking sustainability solutions from all over the world.
Sustainia’s Award Committee, led by Arnold Schwarzenegger, will now review the finalists for the Sustainia Award. Sustainia is also part of the World Climate Summit and the award will be presented at the summit in Paris on December 6.
There is also a community vote, and you can support the Carbon Positive House by voting here.
The Carbon Positive House also recently won the Arch & Design Sustainability Awards for Single Dwelling and have been shortlisted for the Green Interiors Awards, while ArchiBlox was recently inducted into the Victoria Government Manufacturing Hall of Fame for its innovative building methods.
