11 homes across the country won awards at the Australian Institute of Architects’ National Architecture Awards.
The nation's best designs were celebrated last night at the Australian Institute of Architects’ National Architecture Awards in Brisbane. 11 homes across the country won awards in three residential architecture award categories, new houses, alterations and additions, and multiple housing.
Planchonella House in Queensland by architect Jesse Bennett won the most coveted housing award, the Robin Boyd Award for Residential Architecture.
National awards for new residential design went to Balmoral House by Clinton Murray + Polly Harbison, Light House by Peter Stutchbury Architecture, Sawmill House by Archier, and Villa Marittima by Robin Williams Architect.
The Tower House, a home redesigned on a suburban Melbourne block as a series of villages by architect Andrew Maynard, won the top award for alterations and additions. The home is also in the running for a World Architecture Festival residential award, announced in Singapore today.
The multiple housing award went to Melbourne’s Upper House by Jackson Clements Burrows Architects.
Fender Katsalidis Architects won the urban design award for Canberra's NewActon Precint.
