The prefabAUS 2015 annual conference will be held at the University of Melbourne from September 14 to 16.
Prefabricating homes and other buildings is an emerging trend in Australia, but one that's already widely established across Japan, Europe. the US and the UK.
The second annual prefabAUS conference begins next week, and will feature construction industry experts from around the world discussing the way prefab is changing the design, building and manufacturing industries.
The conference will also examine the benefits of using prefab construction to infrastructure sectors such as health and education. Speakers include John Wardle of John Wardle Architects and Ken McBryde, principal at HASSELL and Laurice Temple, CEO of The National Association of Women in Construction. Guests of the conference have the opportunity to visit some of Melbourne’s most innovative prefab buildings, including Nunwading Train Station, Caulfield Grammar School and The Green apartments in Parkville.
