He may have his eye on The White House, but where does Donald Trump live and work today?
Donald Trump has always had grand visions when it comes to property; after all, it’s how he made his fortune. His own homes are no exception.
We take a look inside the homes of Donald Trump.
The Manhattan penthouse
Trump’s most famous residence is his 3,000sqm, three-storey penthouse at the top of Trump Tower. Trump lives with Melania and their son Barron in the penthouse, which is said to be worth US$100 million (A$135 million). The home has been designed in the style of Versailles, and is decorated with gold, marble, hand-painted murals, and even diamonds.
Trump’s business empire is also headquartered in Trump Tower, which has a prime position on Fifth Avenue. Trump is said to own another 40 other apartments in New York.
The beach house
Mar-A-Lago is a 17-acre property on the shores of Palm Beach, Florida. The central mansion has 58 bedrooms, 30 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces, and a 2,000sqm ballroom. Trump has converted the property in to the super-exclusive Mar-a-Lago private club.
The country retreats
Trump owns Seven Springs estate in Bedford, New York. Trump apparently paid US$7.5 million (A$10 million) for the 13-bedroom mansion and surrounding 200 acres in 1995.
Trump also owns the Albemarle Estate in Charlottesville, Virginia. The property was once said to be worth $100 million (A$135 million), but Trump bought it advantageously from the former wife of media mogul, John Kluge, for US$13 million (A$17 million).
Trump has been quoted as saying, "I generally split my time between Bedford, Palm Beach and Manhattan," but added he does “have homes in other locations,” without specifying where they are.
