David Airey has retired as President of REIWA.
Mr Airey served for 12 years on the REIWA council, including four years in the role of President. He is retiring from both roles.
A farewell function was held for Mr Airey last week.
In a tribute to Mr Airey and to the REIWA's strong relationships with regulators and government, the function was attended by the Minister for Commerce The Hon Michael Mischin, and Premier Colin Barnett. Both wished Mr Airey farewell and thanked the REIWA for its ongoing role in policy liaison.
"This has been a wonderful and rewarding experience for me and I leave the Council and Presidency in the hands of talented and experienced people," Mr Airey said.
"Not only has REIWA's financial position strengthened, but it has developed a new, smarter, stronger website in REIWA.com and we enjoy a very strong working relationship with the State Government and Opposition, which includes positions for REIWA on the Property Industry Advisory Board and ongoing dialogue with our industry regulator, the Department of Commerce," he said.
The REIWA will meet on 15 October to elect a new President.
